My Photography Gear and how I got started.
I started shooting on a Canon 600D in 2013, I wasn't using manual yet but loved the art of taking photos, the composition and being creative. It went on a 6 week trip through America and Canada with me back in 2015 and served me very well.
In 2021, I fell in love with photography all over again after my own wedding, I went to a waterfall with my husband and mum and took my camera with us. I had lost my charger and couldn't load the images onto my laptop either. After a few weeks, I decided that I wanted to use my part of the wedding money to buy myself a new camera. I did some research but didn't want something too expensive but wanted something decent. I wanted to stay with Canon so I ended up going with the Canon RP mirrorless, I got 2 kit lenses with it- 24-105mm F4 and 50mm F1.8.
My 50 was my most used but I always bought my 24-105 with me as well- I used this for an extended family group as I didn't need to go as wide with my aperture so I could get everyone in focus. I shot on my 50mm for multiple sessions and liked it but I felt like it wasn't allowing me to capture the images I wanted because I couldn't get as close to my subjects.
I researched, watched multiple Youtube videos and decided to purchase the Sigma 35mm F1.4 and it really just took my photography to another level. I was able to capture more of the images that I wanted to, The bokeh I was able to get with my new lens was super dreamy too.
I have a few weddings booked and really wanted to upgrade my camera to have a second body as well. I recently bought the Canon R6 and I am in love! The images it is producing is incredible, It is so crisp and just beautiful!
I had a surface pro to begin with but it just wasn't cutting it and was running out of space all the time. I ended up buying myself a Mac Book Air and this is so much better for editing!!!
